It actually took me a while to get to this book and from the cover alone I really had no idea what to expect. By the time I get to books, I tend to forget the synopsis so I actually thought this was going to be a happy-go-lucky story. Wrong! Grace's character by far is the complex of all the characters I've come across in the book and I can't help but hate her one moment and feel sorry the next. I didn't like the way the first half of the book was from Tracy's point of view, while the second half was in Grace's-I'm sorry Miz Grace's- point of view. I honestly thought I started reading another book. Nonetheless, this is a great story about learning to deal with your environments and your pain, and also it is a good book for learning how to eventually move on.Product details

The book was well written and had a great story line, but the author just STOPPED, QUIT, DID NOT FINISH THE STORY!!! If there is a book 2 great, I would love to find it and read it but they make no mention of a book 2 . Therefore you r left hanging like that TV cliffhanger that didn't come back on the next season..........it took a while but at least we found out who shot JR.
This was my first time reading Janet Walker work, and it will not be my last. I really enjoyed reading this book because it was different from all the other books. If your looking for something fresh/ different this is the book for you!!!
Ms. Grace was a cold untouchable person in this book. She seemed like she thought she was better especially since she had money and a lot of material wealth. I felt sorry for her husband. How did they get married with him not knowing her past....
I tried to stick with this book until the end but I gave up not even halfway through. I was having a hard time finding the motivation to read this book so I stopped. I felt like the story was long and there weren't enough details or interesting things to make me want to keep reading.
Can't wait for part 2. A touching and uplifting story about 2 girls abused by those we're suppose to trust the most, our parents. The child that was sexually abused is now the teacher of the younger one that was physically abused. I think the teacher may teach her more than the school subject, like how to overcome and l live thru the terror.
Not bad at all so far, I just wished the writer wouldn't have told us every little thing about Grace's house from floors to wall and then her office from the wood to the knobs. lol, other than that I can't wait to read what is going to happen to Tracy, because alot of people have lived with a mother like this.
